Barney

Since some users have been posting their poetry on to Noddleit it has given me the yearning to post some of my creations here as well. I'm not sure that my stuff necessarily comes out well as poetry so you'll just have to make do with me warbling away in the hope that I get it across.

This is a song I wrote a long time ago about a friend of mine who went away to the Falklands War and came back, understandably, a much changed person.

Just to say that Barney eventually got better, but not before he'd laid out a mutual friend in an explosion of suppressed violence, which is what prompted the writing of the song.

Thanks Mephisto, DG, RKid, MS and TGV. I'll try and get something like one a month up. Not all will be to everyone's taste but that's a good reason for posting them, to maybe find out which are and which aren't. By the way the reason for mentioning th song 'Southern Counties' is cos it features Deacongirl warbling with me.

of course not, you know im one of your groupies. I liken it to a proctologist whose soothing velvety manner makes you forget that he's stuck is finger up your bum.

Fantastic Col, ive said it before but you have a tone to your voice that means you can convey the darkest of lyrics and still make it sound like a lullaby.
