Ode to a Cuttle Fish

Oh, sweet Cuttle Fish
Chameleon of the sea
Is there any life for you and me?
Between Mollusc and Mammal
Eight arms and Two tentacles
Versus two legs and two arms
Would our love really cause so much harm?

If you could see colours
You'd be in for a shock
As you sail through the ocean
Like a multicoloured Windsock
Changing your skin to suit your mood
Trailing behind you, banners of ink
That really makes me think

I should pick up a pen, to tell you my fears
Of a raised Hunters Eyebrow
Poised with Musket or spear
And our days would be done
As you end up In a budgie cage
As the source of
Dietary calcium.

You'd have thought that a cuttlefish wouldn't be found sexy by a human being.
But love's funny like that.
All it takes, is the right shade of lipstick and some mascara, and you've got yourself a pretty fine mollusc there, Romeo.

Nice peice of writing there MS.
