Angel without wings
I saw you there long ago in the blowing snow
All covered in white on that long ago night
The storm was sudden and the wind blew hard
You came to shelter in my back yard
Where did you come from this angel without wings
Where you came from I did not know
All I knew was to get you out of the snow
You were so cold that you shivered so much
You sat at the table and asked if you should go
Where did you come from this angle without wings
How could I send you back into the storm
All I wanted to do was keep you warm
Without being forward I asked you if you'd like a bed
With a look of gratitude , thank you I would you said
Where did you come from this angel without wings
We talked for hours into the night then off to separate beds
I couldn't sleep for many hours cos you were on my mind
I knew then what I had to do, I had to make you mine
So for many years I've had you now, a wife and a mum so fine

To some, it might sound like a stalker skulking in your back garden, that happened to finally bag her man.
I like it.
Sentimental.
Keep writing.
