We heard yesterday that the BNP is to consider non-whites for it’s membership. I’ve just heard the deputy leader Simon Darby on the Radio 2 Jeremy Vine Show whilst claiming the party policy wasn’t based on colour, in answer to the question “Do you feel closer to a white immigrant Pole living in Britain than someone who was born and bred here who happened to be black?”, simply said “Yes.” Do you think he meant to say “No”?

The point about the Polish being more racist is interesting. I didn't know that. By the way anyone who doesn't know me, the question "Do you think he meant to say “No”? is a hypothetical one. Some people away from this site have taken me seriously. | | Nod+ (0) | Report | Follow |

Sorry it's rude not to show the source. | | Nod+ (0) | Report | Follow |

I think the reason for Darby's answer was because he knows statistically the Polish are more racist than the British. | | Nod+ (0) | Report | Follow |

And how would they be really be received at a meeting or rally if they did? | | Nod+ (0) | Report | Follow |

I happened to channel hop the other night and come across the BNP wives proggy. In it there was a gathering where a speach maker proudly proclaimed the English, as a country, had been here for thousands and thousands of years. Thats news to me. The English, as a nation, only evolved AFTER the Celts had settled here. And that was some 1500 years before the Romans took a shine to the islands. The English came much, much later. Unless we can force ourselves to bellow - I'm afraid we are screwed. | | Nod+ (0) | Report | Follow |

 | | Hi_ImJenny - 2009-10-16 16:01:27 | | | No, not at all I'm afraid. I hate the BNP so that could first of all, cloud my judgement. Yet, racism is central to their party aims and ideals. It seems to me that they either don't realise how offence and discriminatory they are being or they do and don't care. Either way, narrow-mindedeness springs to mind :) | | Nod+ (0) | Report | Follow |
