We’ve just started, for the first time in years, to have our milk, eggs and regular stuff delivered to our door. If for no other reason than we now have milk bottles that ‘chink’ every time we open and close the fridge door, I like the idea. The in-house teenage reaction to this was “My God, that’s so SCUMMY. Only poor people have stuff delivered to their door and you’ll have it nicked by someone at 3 O’clock in the morning. Tch!!” - Have we done the right thing?

Got to remind you it was a teenager saying it was scummy, who has about as much idea of how much a pint of milk costs as someone who estimates the delivery cost at being three times as much. Actually having said that, how much is a pint of milk? | | Nod+ (1) | Report | Follow |

 | | PaulaK - 2010-02-21 18:59:29 | | | I can confirm Fliss87's mum is the poshest ever, so if she has her milk delivered it's def the thing to do. As for having it stolen, that depends where you live, wouldn't happen in Fliss's mum's private lane!! | | Nod+ (0) | Report | Follow |

 | | fliss87 - 2010-02-21 18:54:10 | | | how is that scummy..........its costs about three times as much to have it delivered. so surely it is not for poor people!!! if anything its for richer people who can afford this luxury. Poor people have to walk down the spar in the freezing cold mornings with their hoodies on. | | Nod+ (0) | Report | Follow |

 | | Bassist - 2010-02-21 18:29:50 | | | Well done! I wanted it delivered when a new milkman knocked the door enquiring for a new round a couple of years ago, but minimum quantity was 6 bottles a week. Well, there's only 2 of us and maximum consumption is 1.5L - 2L per week, so I had to stick to plastic bottles from Sainsburys :-( According to that website, we do have a milkman available, so I'll check him out! Thanks BC. | | Nod+ (0) | Report | Follow |
